Residential AC Repair in Sarasota & Manatee County
When your air conditioner quits in a Florida August, it is not an inconvenience -- it is an emergency. Indoor temperatures in an unconditioned Gulf Coast home climb past 85°F within a few hours, and the humidity that follows puts your drywall, flooring, and furniture at risk. Purity Air Services runs same-day residential repair calls across Sarasota and Manatee County, and we quote the repair before we start the work.
AC Repair
What we handle
Same-day diagnostics
Most repair calls booked before noon are handled the same day. Our technicians arrive stocked with the capacitors, contactors, motors, and refrigerant that account for the majority of Florida AC failures, so the fix usually happens on the first visit instead of after a parts order.
Not cooling, but running
A system that runs constantly without dropping the temperature usually points to a refrigerant leak, a fouled condenser coil, or a failing compressor. We leak-search rather than simply topping off refrigerant -- adding refrigerant to a leaking system is a bill you will pay again next season.
Frozen evaporator coil
Ice on the indoor coil or the copper line set is a symptom, not the problem. Restricted airflow from a clogged filter or collapsed duct, a failed blower motor, or low refrigerant charge are the usual causes. We thaw the system, find the root cause, and correct it.
Water leaks and clogged drain lines
Florida humidity means your air handler pulls gallons of condensate out of the air every day. When the drain line clogs with algae, that water finds your ceiling. We clear the line, treat it, and check the safety float switch that should have shut the system down before the overflow.
Electrical and control failures
Blown capacitors, pitted contactors, tripped breakers, and failed thermostats are among the most common and least expensive repairs we make. We test the full control circuit rather than replacing parts by guesswork.
Emergency and after-hours service
We answer after-hours calls and do not add an overtime surcharge to evening or weekend repairs. Maintenance plan members move to the front of the queue.

What AC repair costs
We charge a flat diagnostic fee to come out, test the system, and give you a written repair price before any work begins. If you approve the repair, the diagnostic fee is credited toward it. No hourly meter, no surprise line items.

Answers
AC Repair questions
How fast can you get here?
Most repair calls booked before noon are completed the same day. Maintenance plan members receive priority scheduling and are dispatched ahead of non-members.
Do you charge extra for evenings or weekends?
No. Our repair pricing is the same whether you call at 10am Tuesday or 8pm Saturday. There is no overtime surcharge.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
As a rule of thumb, if the system is over 12 years old and the repair exceeds about a third of replacement cost, replacement is usually the better financial decision -- especially with older R-22 systems, where refrigerant costs alone can make a repair uneconomical. We will give you both numbers and let you decide rather than pushing a sale.
My AC is blowing but the air is not cold. What is wrong?
The most common causes are low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty condenser coil, a failed capacitor preventing the compressor from starting, or a frozen evaporator coil. All four are things we diagnose on the first visit.
Do you work on all brands?
Yes. We service Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, American Standard, Bryant, York, Amana, and Mitsubishi ductless systems, among others.
Is the diagnostic fee refunded?
It is credited toward the cost of the repair when you approve the work. If you decline the repair, the diagnostic fee covers the visit and the written diagnosis, which is yours to keep.
